Miao Huashan Festival is an annual "Flower Mountain Walking" festival for Miao people in Pingbian, Mengzi, Hekou and Wenshan, Yunnan. Let's briefly introduce the knowledge about the Miao Huashan Festival. Welcome to reading.
"Flower pole" is an important symbol of stepping on Huashan Festival. Generally, tall pine or cypress trees are selected and tied with flowers and colorful flags. People who wear flower poles, also called flower heads, are recognized as "good people".
On the morning of the first day of the festival, the man must erect a flower pole before the sun rises. On the day of "stepping on the Huashan Mountain", first of all, the people who came forward to participate in "stepping on the Huashan Mountain" were toasted and blessed, and then "stepping on the Huashan Mountain" was announced. At this time, gongs and drums were loud inside and outside Huashan Stadium, firecrackers and bronze guns came and went, flowers and colorful flags fluttered in the wind, and various celebrations came and went.
The most important activity of Huashan Festival is climbing the flower pole upside down. The pole climber must carry the applique pole on his back, pull it up and down with both hands and jump vertically. Whoever spends the least time climbing to the top of the pole is the "flower pole king"
Huashan Festival is also a good opportunity for young Miao men and women to pour out their feelings, get engaged and make friends. The "Maguan County Records and Customs Records" compiled during the Republic of China has the following description: When the mountain fields are opened in January every year, "many Miao girls stand at a distance and are shy. Some Miao men grease the long rope, and two people pull it around, pretending to defile the woman's clothes. All Miao girls are forced to enter the venue, or get together for three or five days, leaving it to Miao men to choose. "
If a young man takes a fancy to a little girl, he will give her a small umbrella. At first, the young man will take the initiative to sing two courtship folk songs. If the little girl has feelings, he will answer with folk songs. On the contrary, he will say no with a silent answer or by avoiding an umbrella, and then prepare to fall in love. Young men and women, once in love, the man will give the woman a flower bag foot and a flower bag belt, and the woman will also give back a flower handkerchief and Baotou embroidered by herself.
The process of "stepping on Huashan Mountain"
On the day of hiking in Huashan Mountain, the "Huahuitou" first toasted and blessed those who participated in the "hiking in Huashan Mountain", and then announced the start of the "hiking in Huashan Mountain" festival. At this time, gongs and drums were loud inside and outside Huashan Stadium, firecrackers were ringing, bronze guns were ringing one after another, flowers and colorful flags were flying in the wind, and various celebrations began one after another.
Some young men and women sing folk songs, some dance three steps and tap dances, some play "Lusheng Rack" to exchange Lusheng, some dance lions and some fight bullfights. The whole Huashan field was jubilant. The annual "Flower Mountain Tour" Festival is also a good opportunity for Miao young men and women to pour out their love and make friends. Once young men and women fall in love, men should wrap their feet with flowers and give them to girls with flower belts, and women should also give them back with their embroidered flower handkerchiefs and Baotou.
Introduction of Miao Huashan Festival
Huashan Festival, also known as stepping on Huashan Mountain. This is a grand program of the Miao people living in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
Huashan Festival is generally held on a gentle soil slope. A bamboo pole or tree pole five or six feet high is erected in the flower field, which is a flower pole, and two pieces of red and black cloth are hung on the flower pole respectively. Every year on the 16th day of the twelfth lunar month, the owner of Huashan will erect flower poles to let people know that there are flower fields here. The first day of the first month begins to set foot on Huashan Mountain, and the grand Huashan Festival can be extended to the eighth and ninth days.
There are two different versions of the origin of stepping on Huashan Mountain, one is to represent children, and the other is to commemorate this day. There is a story about the origin of Huashan Festival among Miao people:
Once upon a time, Miao ancestors lived in plain areas, where the land was fertile and cattle and sheep swarmed. The cruel emperor wanted to occupy the territory of the Miao nationality, so he sent imperial soldiers to attack the Miao tribe. Meng Ziyou, the Miao king, led his nine sons, eight girls and Miao people to fight against imperial soldiers, and finally the Miao people were outnumbered. The Miao nationality failed, and Meng Ziyou's nine sons and eight daughters died in battle, so the ancestors of the Miao nationality had to migrate to the southwest mountainous area.
Meng Ziyou erected a flower pole on the 16th day of the twelfth lunar month, held a memorial ceremony on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day of the first month to commemorate his son and daughter who died defending their hometown, and also performed a martial arts performance, which was handed down from generation to generation. Walking in Huashan Mountain is a Miao sports activity, an exchange of Miao life experience and an entertainment activity for Miao young men and women. During the Huashan Festival, there are sports and cultural programs such as Lusheng dance, martial arts, that is, stick, knife, spear, hook, three-section stick, nail training, inverted pole climbing, bullfighting, horse racing and so on.
