Where are the Miao people mainly distributed?

Miao people are mainly distributed in seven provinces including Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangxi and Hainan. Among them, Guizhou is the most.

(1) Hunan is a multi-ethnic province with 55 ethnic groups including Han, Tujia, Miao, Yao, Dong, Bai and Hui. Among them, nine ethnic groups live in the world, including Han, Miao, Tujia, Dong, Yao, Hui, Zhuang and Bai. Most of the ethnic minorities living in the world live in western Hunan, southern Hunan and eastern Hunan.

(2) Hubei, referred to as "Hubei" for short, is the provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC), with Wuhan as the capital. Because it is located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and north of Dongting Lake, it is named Hubei. Located in the middle of China, it is adjacent to Anhui in the east, Chongqing in the west, Shaanxi in the northwest, Jiangxi and Hunan in the south and Henan in the north.

(3) Guizhou is a multi-ethnic province, with 56 ethnic groups including Han, Miao, Buyi, Dong, Tujia, Yi, Gelao, Shui, Hui, Bai, Yao, Zhuang, She, Maonan, Manchu, Mongolian and Maonan.

(4) Sichuan is a multi-ethnic settlement with 56 ethnic groups. Han, Yi, Tibetan, Qiang, Miao, Hui, Mongolian, Tujia, Lisu, Manchu, Naxi, Buyi, Bai, Zhuang and Dai are ethnic groups living in this province.

(5) Yunnan is the province with the most ethnic groups in China. Besides the Han nationality, there are 25 indigenous minorities with a population of over 6,000. Among them, 15 ethnic groups are endemic to Yunnan, and their population accounts for more than 80% of the total population of this ethnic group in China.
