How are most bronzes forged?
The first step in forging bronzes is to turn over the mold. Counterfeiters usually use vulcanized silicone rubber as a mold to imitate bronzes, and then make bronzes by lost wax method. Then the second step is to make it old, so that the imitation bronzes will rust. "Soak in hydrochloric acid first, then bury it underground for a period of time, and then pour some acid and alkali medicine into the soil. Generally, after three or four years, bronze will grow copper rust. " If the imitation bronzes do not achieve the expected effect after three or four years, counterfeiters will scrape off the rust on some real bronzes and use paint and latex to make the rust adhere to the surface tightly.
