Ethnicity

Our military art troupe was born in the era of war. 1929 after the Gutian meeting, all units of the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants selected outstanding elements from the soldiers to form a propaganda team. 193 1 year, the Central Military and Political School of the Workers and Peasants Red Army established the "Bayi Troupe", which became the first professional art group in our army focusing on artistic activities.

Since then, various regiments and services of the Red Army have successively established literary and art groups. During War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, the literary and art groups of the People's Army developed greatly, which were generally called drama clubs, art troupes and propaganda teams.

After the founding of New China, our army's literary and art working group has strengthened its regularization and specialization. By the end of 1950, all the field armies (major military regions), corps, armies (including some provincial military regions), special forces and some colleges and universities of our army had cultural and art troupes, and many regimental units also had propaganda teams.
