How to choose dental instruments? Which is better?

Orthodontics, also called orthodontics, is to correct wrong teeth and deformities. Many people think that orthodontics is to make teeth beautiful, which is also the biggest misunderstanding of orthodontics.

Tooth deformity will not only affect the appearance, but also prone to oral diseases such as tooth decay, bad breath and periodontitis. Moreover, serious tooth deformity can easily lead to slurred speech, difficulty in chewing, and more seriously affect the function of swallowing and breathing, thus affecting the health of the whole body.

In order to be healthy, which appliance to choose needs to be decided according to your own situation, such as age, degree of tooth deformity and so on. There are four kinds of orthoses commonly used:

First, the traditional metal bracket appliance.

What we call "Kouga" is to bond metal brackets to teeth, fix teeth with steel wires, and then apply appropriate force to make teeth move gradually and arrange neatly.

Advantages: low price and wide application range.

Disadvantages:

1. No aesthetics;

2. Brackets and archwires are easy to rub against the oral cavity, and have a strong foreign body sensation, which will stimulate the oral mucosa and even cause oral ulcers in severe cases;

3. Food residues are easy to remain on brackets and archwires, which makes oral cleaning difficult;

4. More follow-up visits and long correction time.

Second, the self-locking bracket appliance

Self-locking bracket is an upgraded version of traditional appliance, that is, a door is added to the bracket, which can directly lock the deformed steel wire in the groove of the bracket, avoid the bondage of ligating steel wire or rubber band to orthodontic steel wire, reduce the friction resistance between steel wire and bracket, reduce the stress on teeth, speed up tooth movement and shorten the whole treatment time.

Advantages:

1. Shorten the calibration time

2. Without rubber band binding and ligation, the correction process will be mild and comfortable;

3. The oral cavity is convenient to clean and protect the periodontal health.

Disadvantages: positioning is difficult. As long as the bracket position is incorrect, it will increase the difficulty of fine-tuning in the later stage, and there will be repeated alignment and leveling.

Thirdly, lingual invisible appliance

The appliance is installed on the lingual side of teeth for orthodontic treatment. It is difficult to see braces in appearance, which can not only achieve the purpose of correction, but also solve the problem of Kouga exposure.

Advantages: it can improve the aesthetics.

Disadvantages:

1. The operation is difficult and the price is high;

2. The correction time will be longer;

3. It is easy to leave food residue, which is inconvenient for oral cleaning;

4. Metal archwires and brackets will irritate the oral cavity, easily causing discomfort and foreign body sensation.

Fourth, invisible orthotics.

Transparent appliances made of polymer materials are invisible, comfortable, self-detachable and beautiful. And there is no metal stimulation, which prevents oral wear to a certain extent.

Advantages:

1. Invisible and beautiful, and will not affect social interaction;

2. Reduce friction and protect periodontal health;

3. It can be taken off when brushing your teeth and eating, and the oral hygiene is convenient for cleaning and maintenance;

4. It needs to be worn according to the doctor's requirements, and the frequency of follow-up visits is small, which can save a lot of time.

Disadvantages:

1. The price is the highest among all amendments;

2. Correction is limited, and it is not suitable for severe tooth deformity.

Finally, it is not recommended that you buy dental instruments online, but that you go to a regular dental center for treatment.
