The cherry blossom is the pride of the Japanese nation, and like the majestic Mt. Fudo, it is a symbol of hard work, bravery and wisdom. Every year, on March 15, is the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan. On this day, Japanese men, women and children go to parks or fields to enjoy cherry blossoms. In Tokyo's Ueno Park, there are various events on this day such as flower feasts, flower parties and flower dances. When one of the famous varieties of Japanese cherry blossoms, "Yaezumi", blooms in Shinjuku Park in Tokyo, the Japanese government organizes a "cherry blossom viewing party" to invite foreign ambassadors and celebrities.

The Japanese people's love of cherry blossoms has a long history. Legend has it that a long time ago, a beautiful and wise girl named Kibana Kaiyehime spent half a year traveling all over Japan from winter to summer, from south to north, withdrawing the seeds of cherry blossoms along the way. Since then, cherry blossoms have been blooming all over Japan.

The cherry blossom is a deciduous tree in the Rosaceae family and can grow up to 16 meters tall. But in general parks, it is cultivated as a small tree, about 5 meters high. The flowers open before the leaves, and five or six of them are born in short racemes on the branches. The petals are white or reddish, fragrant; there is a difference between single petal and heavy petal, single petal can nodule fruit, black when ripe; heavy petal does not bear fruit.

The cherry blossom has always been with the Japanese people's production, life and feelings fused together: blossom and fall, foretelling the arrival of spring sowing, fall harvest season; cherry juice, cherry leaves, cherry blossom, cherry wood, is a common medicinal herbs, food, furniture and wood carving of the good raw materials.
