Aesthetic Education

The concept of "aesthetic education" was introduced by Schiller after Baumgarten established the discipline of "aesthetics" in the 1850s. After Baumgarten established the discipline of "aesthetics" in the eighteen-fifties, it was put forward by Schiller. However, the practice of aesthetic education and the awareness of aesthetic education have existed since ancient times. In China, just after getting rid of the savagery of the primitive clan society and entering the ancient civilization of the Western Zhou slave society, the Duke of Zhou "made the rites and music".

Rituals are the norms and rituals of ethical relationships, and music is the art of synthesis, including poetry, song, and dance. The combination of rituals and music is both a law and a system for governing the country, and a way of education.

Toward the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, Confucius created an ancient education system by separating education from the political life of the state. He taught his disciples the "six arts" -- ritual, music, calligraphy, mathematics, archery, and the arts. Music, in fact, was a special class for aesthetic education. Confucius combined music, poetry, dance and other arts to play out his idea of aesthetic education, laid the ideological foundation of ancient Chinese aesthetic education, and formed the Chinese tradition of aesthetic education in the one or two thousand years of feudal society.
