Cultivate the mind with Buddhism, preserve one's health with Taoism, and govern the country with Confucianism.
One should be responsible for the earth; But one should build wisdom in heaven; One should work hard to finish the work like a saint; A person should be as light as a Taoist fairy and integrate his life into nature; This is called God in the sky and holiness on the earth, which is the ideal personality realm of China people!
In the words of Mr. Lin Yutang, everyone's social ideal in China is Confucianism, while everyone's natural personality ideal is Taoism. This is what we often say, if you are rich, you will help the world, and if you are poor, you will be immune to it.
All religions emphasize love, all arts emphasize beauty, and all sciences emphasize truth. As long as love does not increase, nothing will change!
Confucianism stresses benevolence, and benevolent people love others and want to achieve it.
Buddhism emphasizes great compassion.
Taoism stresses the unity of heaven and man and kindness. I have three treasures, which I hold and protect. One is kindness, the other is thrift, and the third is not daring to be the first in the world. ? History is the best filter, it tells us what is the essence. 1988, some nobel prize winners gathered in Paris, and once voiced that if human beings want to survive in 2 1 century, they must seek wisdom from Confucianism 2,500 years ago. The United Nations Headquarters is also engraved with the words of Confucius: "Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you". At an important international conference, an official of our country was named Confucius Kong Laoer, and Korean officials all stood up and walked out! Korean students burst into tears when they learned that Confucius was not Korean! The expatriates of South Korea's Samsung Group must recite The Analects; South Korea has made 24 filial piety into TV series, and broadcast it every day ... Stones from other mountains can attack jade. For us, excellent traditional culture is not dirt that should be washed away, but blood flowing in blood vessels.
In fact, the value of sages lies in their valuable life experience before the dynasties, which can go through vicissitudes and make us still feel warm! Before the ages, they smiled silently and looked at what we were still talking about.
The wisdom of the ancients is beyond the reach of modern people. For example, we study philosophy. In China, there are many philosophy departments and philosophers, but none of them can write a book as long as Laozi's Tao Te Ching, which has been translated into many languages and characters and studied by modern philosophers and thinkers. With so many history departments and historians in China, who can write a book, such as Sima Qian's Historical Records, which can be called the swan song of historians? There are so many military scientists and military academies in China, and who can write a book, such as The Art of War, which is still regarded as a teaching material by West Point Military Academy, so we just give a few examples to tell us that the wisdom of ancient China people can't be said to be beyond the reach of future generations, but it is indeed beyond the reach of future generations. What is the reason? It is because there is a saying in The Analects that "if a worker wants to do a good job, he must sharpen his tools first". What does this mean? For example, if our craftsmen want to make a good table, they must grind your tools first. In the same way, if you want to know objective things, you must first calm down your heart.
We see a famous thinker Ikeda Daisaku in contemporary Japan. When talking with Mr. Toynbee, a famous British historical philosopher, he said that a country that is generally regarded as a symbol of backwardness actually hides the most advanced things of the times. But it is precisely because it is hidden in secrets that many people don't realize it and often criticize it. This is one of the important reasons for the decline of traditional culture.
