What is the dietary tradition of Finns?

Finns have three main dietary traditions:

1, a large plate of raw vegetables before meals

I'm afraid meat lovers will be a little unaccustomed when they arrive in Finland, because they have to eat a big plate of raw vegetables before serving the main course. Especially for lunch and dinner buffet, the locals will definitely take a big plate of salad first. People with a small appetite eat a large plate of lettuce, and their stomachs are half full, so the amount of staple food will naturally decrease.

2. Favorite salmon

Finns often only have five or six kinds of dishes on the main menu, among which there is only one kind of beef and one kind of pork, and others are all kinds of deep-sea fish, especially salmon. It is said that Finns are particularly popular with them and eat almost every meal. They fry with little olive oil and eat it.

Rye bread is the staple food

Rye bread can be seen everywhere on the dining table, which is the most traditional staple food in Finland and is praised as "the best food" by Finns. The dietary fiber content of rye bread is two or three times that of general whole wheat bread, so it is very easy to feel full and promote defecation. Research by Finnish Institute of International Technology shows that eating rye bread can also prevent diabetes, and eating 30 grams a day is good for your health. However, people who eat this kind of bread for the first time may not be used to it. The taste is rough and sour. After eating a few times, they will get used to this natural wheat flavor.
