What are the advantages and disadvantages of blow molding compared with injection molding?
compared with extrusion blow molding, injection blow molding mainly has the following disadvantages. (1) Injection blow molding requires two kinds of molds, parison mold and blow molding mold, and the mold requirements are high, so the mold cost of injection blow molding is higher, which is about 2~3 times that of extrusion blow molding. Therefore, the cost of injection blow molding containers will not be too high when the production volume is large (for example, 1,-7, pieces/year) (for extrusion blow molding, the product cost will not be too high when the production volume is less than 5, pieces/year). (2) The pressure on the melt in the cavity of the parison mold is high (1~4MPa), so the residual stress of the blow-molded container is high, and the clamping force required by the parison mold is high. (3) Most of them are used for molding containers with small volume (generally less than 5mL). (4) It is difficult to form oval containers because products with complex shapes cannot be formed. (
