After the New Year's Day run 400 words

This year I took part in the New Year's Day run, and I was very excited.

In the New Year's Day run, I met a lot of students, and they were all full of energy, and they all said they wanted to win the championship. The students were all in high spirits and said they wanted to win the race.

I'm in the Junior A division. Most of us are middle schoolers. The run started at the traffic light. At the referee's signal, the whole crowd started to move. First, they were moving fast, but gradually, everyone's strength was exhausted, so the speed slowed down. Luckily, I had the foresight to run at an even pace at the beginning, so that I would have the strength to sprint at the end.

We ran and ran, and when we got to the turnaround point, some of us took a shortcut by cutting across the center. It's a big curve, and a shortcut would have saved us at least a kilometer. More and more people were going through there. I looked at it and thought, "What about a shortcut? It would save a lot of traveling, time and energy. But it's a lie. If I don't go, I'll be honest, but it'll take a lot of energy and time. Shall I go or not? I stopped and debated with myself. At that moment, an old man with white hair saw me stop and said to me: "Little brother, why don't you run? Life is all about perseverance and honesty, come on." When I heard these words, I had a direction in my heart. I bypassed the shortcut and ran toward the original road.

I ran for a long time to get to the place where the shortcut would take a while, but I didn't regret my choice, because I was faithful and honest. Now, I saw the finish line, but I didn't have much energy left. I kept going. One meter, one meter, another meter. Nearer, nearer, nearer. The finish line is in sight. Come on, we'll win. I'm going for it. I'm over the line. I didn't place in the end, but I'm still happy. Because I'm a man with a clear conscience.

After this incident, I learned that you have to be honest and persevere. In this way, even if you are not the champion, but you will not be a loser, but the winner in your own heart.
