What is the spinning process like?
When cotton is spun into yarn, it usually goes through the main processes such as blowing, carding, drawing, roving and spinning. Yarns and threads used in high-end products need to be combed again.
Different processing procedures should be adopted for the production of cotton yarn with different requirements. If pure cotton yarn and polyester-cotton blended yarn are spun, different raw materials have different physical properties and different product quality requirements, and different production processes should be adopted in processing.
(a) pure cotton yarn technology:
1. carding yarn: blowing → carding → head merging → two merging → roving → spinning → post-treatment.
2. Combed yarn: blowing → carding → pre-stretching → winding → combing → head stretching → second stretching → third stretching → roving → spinning → post-processing.
(2) Process flow of polyester-cotton blended yarn:
1. carding yarn: raw cotton: blowing → carding → merging → two merging → three merging → roving → spinning → post-treatment.
Polyester: blowing → carding.
2. Combed yarn:
Raw cotton: blowing → carding → pre-stretching → winding → combing → head stretching → second stretching → third stretching → roving → spinning → post-processing.
Polyester: blowing → carding → pre-merging.
