How long is the shelf life of peanut oil?
Experts reminded. Peanut oil can be eaten without turbidity and odor after being stored for one year, but it should be eaten as soon as possible. If household edible peanut oil is not properly kept, it is easy to deteriorate. Deteriorated peanut oil has a strong stimulating effect on human stomach and even causes poisoning.
Prevent peanut oil from oxidative deterioration. When more edible oil can't be eaten for a while, a little antioxidant such as pepper, fennel, cinnamon, clove and vitamin C can be added to the oil to delay or prevent the oxidative deterioration of edible oil. Except for colored small glass bottles, the storage period of other containers should be half a year, and the longest period should not exceed one year.
Extended data
Select the storage container of peanut oil. When there is a lot of oil, you can use a ceramic cylinder to minimize the diameter of the container; When there is little oil, you can choose opaque dark glass bottles. After the oil is full, seal the bottle mouth to isolate the oil from the air and prevent the edible oil from oxidation and deterioration. Do not use metal or plastic bottles (barrels) to contain edible oil, because metal molecules and plasticizers in plastics will accelerate the rancidity and deterioration of edible oil, leading to aflatoxin exceeding the standard.
Storage containers should be placed in a cool, dark, dry and low temperature place. Because ultraviolet rays and infrared rays in sunlight will promote the oxidation of oil and accelerate the formation of harmful substances. Oil storage containers should minimize contact with air and sunlight.
Store peanut oil to prevent high temperature. The optimum storage temperature is 10℃- 15℃, which should not exceed 25℃ generally. Summer is not suitable for storage. Try to buy fresh peanut oil and eat fresh oil often. Pay attention to the fact that water cannot be mixed into edible oil, otherwise it will easily emulsify the oil and make it turbid and deteriorated. Hot oil can also be added to oil at the ratio of 40: 1, which can absorb water.
