Daming Straw Weaving is a traditional folk family weaving handicraft popular in the east of Weihe River in daming county, Hebei Province. During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, straw weaving techniques were introduced from Yexian County to Jia Zhu Village, Xifuji Township, daming county, and further spread to the east of Weihe River, which was widely spread throughout daming county.

Daming straw is made of wheat straw, and the products are mostly straw hats and baskets. Nearly a thousand new products, such as paste boxes, have played a positive role in promoting local economic development and increasing farmers' income. At present, the time-consuming and laborious straw weaving production has fallen into a stagnant development stage because it is difficult to meet the requirements of the market, and the number of employees has been decreasing. Daming Caobian is facing the danger of decline and needs urgent support and protection.
