What is a terminal error?
Titration error is also called terminal error. In titration analysis, the color change of indicator is used to determine the titration end point. When the titration endpoint is inconsistent with the equivalence point, the error is called endpoint error, which indicates the systematic error of titration method.
In analytical chemistry, the error caused by the inconsistency between the titration end point and the equivalence point (see volumetric analysis) is defined, which means that the amount of added (or less added) titrant accounts for the percentage of the amount of titrant that should be added according to the metering relationship, also known as the end point error, and is recorded as TE%. Calculate with Lindbergh error formula.
