Should calligraphy major be popularized?

I think it should be popularized vigorously. There are three reasons:

First of all, calligraphy is the essence of China culture and should be vigorously promoted. National quintessence is the cultural soul of a country. A country without a soul will compete and develop.

Second, calligraphy was fatally destroyed during the May 4th Movement. The old culture was abolished and the new culture was promoted. As a result, the new culture advocated is a hodgepodge of Chinese and Western cultures, and the excellent culture of China has also been lost.

Thirdly, nowadays, especially in Japan, calligraphy is a compulsory course for middle school students, which is highly valued. A country that studied China culture in those days knows that it is so valued, let alone us.

Therefore, calligraphy should be popularized by the whole people, the calligraphy education system should be improved, and the soul of national culture should be restored.
