2. Tao Chiuh Hsu, 1973-74, was elected president of the American Society for Cell Biology. His main original contribution is that he found that a well-dispersed metaphase chromosome (1952) can be obtained by pretreatment with hypotonic solution in the process of human chromosome production, and chromosome breakage at specific sites can be successfully induced.

It is the earliest reported chromosome "fragile site" (196 1- 1963), a method to create constitutive heterochromatin, that is, chromosome C banding technique (197 1 year), and the mutagen sensitivity and environmental carcinogenicity are put forward.

Experiments (1983 ——1989) proved the hypothesis related to function, and established a method for determining the efficacy of antioxidants (1992).

3. The most important contribution of Joe Hin Tjio and Joe Hin Tjio is that he found that the chromosome number of human diploid cells is 46 instead of 48, which has ruled for 32 years, in the Levin laboratory of Lund University in Sweden on February 22nd, 1955. Based on this amazing observation, his paper "The Number of Human Chromosomes" was quickly published in the journal Genetics published on 19561October 26th, thus creating the history of human cytogenetics.
