5.Name and location of major industrial regions of India and Pakistan.

There are five major industrial regions of comparative importance in India

1) The industrial region centered in Calcutta. This was the first industrial area to be formed in the country and has declined slightly in recent decades. It now accounts for only 1/10th of the country's industrial output. jute spinning and machinery are the two major industrial sectors in this region.

(2) Mumbai - Pune as the center of the industrial zone. Industrial output accounted for 1/6 of the country, has been significantly ahead of other industrial zones.
