Profile of Ma Weidu
Ma Weidu is a Chinese collector, antique connoisseur, author and screenwriter.
Ma Weidu, born on March 22, 1955 in Beijing, with an ancestral home in Rongcheng, Weihai City, Shandong Province, is a collection expert, cultural scholar, founder and current director of the Guanfu Museum, and former editor of the China Youth Press. He was once the editor of the China Youth Publishing House. Known as "Master Ma", he is also known as "the first collector in Beijing".
In 1981, he published the novel Full Moon Tonight in China Youth Daily. Ma said ceramics" is regarded by many readers as the traditional culture of the enlightenment readings, after the novel was published, was transferred to the "Youth Literature" of the editor. 2008 January 1 onwards, Mr. Ma Weidu guest on CCTV "Hundred Lecture Theatre", has aired 52 speeches. They are "Ma Weidu said furniture collection", "Ma Weidu said ceramic collection", "Ma Weidu said jade collection", "Ma Weidu said lacquer collection" and "Ma Weidu said collection of miscellaneous items", as well as the "salary and fire said collection".
Ma Weidu's personal experience:
In the 1980s, Ma Weidu began to collect ancient Chinese artifacts, and by the 1990s, his collection had grown to a large scale, with more than 1,000 pieces of ceramics, antique furniture, and jades, etc. From 1992 to the present, he has published a number of books on collecting. In October 1996, with Ma Weidu's efforts and the support of the relevant departments, the Guanfu Museum of Classical Art was finally authorized to be established. 2002, Ma Weidu founded the Hangzhou Museum of the Guanfu Museum, the first branch of a private museum in China, and in 2005, he founded the Xiamen Museum of the Guanfu Museum.
