What kinds of inks are there?

Classification of ink. Modern ink and wash can be divided into four types: ① Relief ink. An ink for printing books, newspapers, picture books, documents, account books, etc. The main feature of relief printing is that the inked part of the printed page protrudes from the non-inked part. Relief inks can be divided into lead printing inks, copperplate inks, relief rotary inks and flexible relief inks according to the types of printing machines and the uses of printed materials. ② Lithographic ink. An ink suitable for lithography. All parts of the lithographic layout are basically in the same plane, and the pattern is hydrophilic and the non-pattern is hydrophilic. Printing is based on the principle of oil-water repulsion, so lithographic ink must have water resistance. According to the process, it can be divided into offset printing ink, web offset printing ink, flat offset printing ink, waterless offset printing ink, iron printing ink, lithographic printing ink and offset printing ink. Version ink. ③ Gravure printing ink. An ink suitable for gravure printing. When printing, apply ink to the pattern part of the depressed layout, wipe off or scrape off the ink in the non-pattern part, and then print. There are engraving gravure printing ink and gravure printing ink. ④ Screen printing ink. An ink printed on the printing surface through a printing plate screen. Screen printing ink is divided into stencil printing ink and screen printing ink. The ink manufacturing process can be divided into two stages: stirring pre-dispersion and grinding fine dispersion. The former is to stir the prepared pigment and adhesive into slurry in a container; The latter still needs to be ground and finely dispersed in the stirred slurry, which can overcome the cohesion of pigment with greater mechanical pressure and shear force and eventually become suspended colloidal ink.
