How to distinguish between hand carving and machine carving?

A very common jade material, after ingenious and creative carving, will even appreciate dozens of times in the end! Of course, modern hand carving is not "manual" in the traditional strict sense, but uses various Jin Gangzuan grinders driven by high-speed motors to cut jade materials, but how to cut and what it looks like depends entirely on the efforts of the sculptor, just like no matter what brush you use, the final picture still depends on the artist's own cultivation and skills, so we still call the process of manual modeling hand carving. It just replaced the traditional jade hammer with today's Jin Gangzuan grinding head, and the fine sand along the river was replaced with silicon carbide abrasive with higher hardness, thus making the cutting faster and more efficient. Note that this is also an important reference index to distinguish ancient jade from modern jade from processing marks. After all, few people are willing to use the old technology to grind jade, and no one can stand the inefficiency: be considerate of everyone's desire to get rich quickly. The picture below is a hand-carved scene: the shape and lines of jade are grasped by the sculptor. .. but manual carving is still time-consuming and laborious after all. More importantly, it is not just that anyone can carve beautiful jade articles by picking up Jin Gangzuan, just as anyone can draw beautiful paintings by picking up a brush. As you can see, a large number of jade articles can only be reduced to cheap products after rough machining, which is also an important reason for the serious waste of jade resources. In order to save the expensive carving cost and make beautiful jade articles that people like, many jade merchants have begun to use ultrasonic machines to carve patterns, which greatly improves the carving efficiency on the premise of ensuring the pattern effect. This process adopts beautiful molds made of high carbon steel, and uses high hardness silicon carbide as jade melting sand. The mold is driven by the machine, and vibrates and rubs back and forth on the surface of the jade material at the frequency of ultrasonic waves, so as to achieve the purpose of quickly dissolving jade and carving, and greatly reduce the cost of jade carving. In other words, this machine carving process is actually molding. Bottom: exquisite high carbon steel jade carving mold ... Below: ultrasonic carving machine, flowing silicon carbide abrasive. .. below: Jade pieces preliminarily processed by ultrasonic machine can be listed after cutting and polishing. .. since it is molded, it must have the characteristics of a mold: all molded jade articles have inclined holes to facilitate the entrance and exit of the mold. The carved pieces look very complicated, but they often have a plane like * * *, and few knives are as slender as ox hair. Such a mold is too easy to wear, and there are few cracks on the tool marks: with high-speed grinding, the abrasive itself wears quickly. Advanced ultrasonic module carving technology can produce a large number of exquisite carving works, but the disadvantage is "a large number", which is similar. In addition, ordinary jade materials also use low-value miscellaneous materials (good materials must be carefully carved by hand to improve the final value of jade), which makes the final price of jade cheaper. For example, on a white background, the black spots inside the material can already be faintly seen. Of course, under ordinary natural light, it is difficult to see the inside of the material. It's just a black and oily waist tag. If you don't look through the light, no one can see the quality of the material, but an experienced friend can see at a glance that it is a machine work, which roughly judges that it is mass-produced and the value is generally not too high. On the other hand, if it is only used as a daily decoration, it is still very good. After all, it is a jade carving with exquisite patterns, and many people can't tell the jade material and grade at a glance. Besides, such a high relief needs a lot of materials. By the way, there are differences in machine work: if you carve such a nephrite waist tag with a high-hardness alloy steel mold, at most about 30 pieces will be scrapped, because the mold itself will wear quickly during the processing with silicon carbide high-hardness abrasive, and the processed finished pattern will change from clear to fuzzy in turn. For users, of course, the clearer the better. If you pay attention, look at the small Guanyin and Buddha pendants mass-produced in the store, all of which are low-grade ornaments of tens of yuan or more than 100 yuan. There will be many products with blurred patterns, which are the waste products that merchants are unwilling to scrap steel molds. From this perspective, the following waist tag is still a boutique. Below: The waist tag carved by the machine mold is 53*25 mm. Look at the hand-carved jade pieces: pay attention to the faucet. For the convenience of demoulding, all concave parts must have a smooth downward slope, and hand-carved hollowing can be excavated at any time according to the needs of modeling, which can express the modeling characteristics more accurately, make the carving more vivid and delicate, and become a unique treasure. Of course, the price is also very high: it costs several hundred yuan to carve a few simple flowers and patterns on a flat brand, while the price of a carefully carved brand is often more than 1,000 yuan. As for the exquisite works with high relief, the value is higher. A famous sculptor, even with 50,000 materials (high-grade goods such as white jade seeds, of course) and 654.38 million+sculptors, a jade brand is a car! So, if you pay more attention to the carver (it seems to be nonsense: which jade player doesn't pay attention to the carver? ! ), we must distinguish the difference between hand carving and machine carving, but the grade and price are very different!
