Modern shroud
After Manchu entered the customs, in the first year of Shunzhi (1644), the law of "changing crowns and clothes" was strictly enforced. Some rural people, because they don't know the law, occasionally wear clothes from the Ming Dynasty and go to town. Most of them take off their clothes and save their lives.
Because of the change of clothes in the early Qing dynasty, the Han nationality and some ethnic minorities were forced to change into Manchu costumes (that is, modern Tang suits and mandarin jackets). Over time, Manchu Tang suit gradually expanded to all aspects of life and became the standard form of modern shroud.
Most of them are embroidered with five longevity bats. The colors of shroud are generally blue and brown, and young women use red, pink or onion white. In addition, it is also equipped with bedding, usually covered with yellow and white (meaning covered with gold and silver), and the quilt cover is often embroidered with "Eight Immortals". A few villages still use this kind of shroud, but most rural areas and cities have changed their customs. Generally speaking, the dead wear neat and clean daily clothes to attend the funeral, and they are still used to being called shroud.
