Is Hangzhou a first- or second-tier city?
Last year the country redefined the level of cities, Hangzhou is a first-tier city.
It is a new first-tier city. Hangzhou, referred to as Hangzhou, the ancient name of Lin'an, Qiantang, is the capital of Zhejiang Province, a sub-provincial city, Hangzhou Metropolitan Area core city, the State Council approved the determination of the capital of Zhejiang Province, China and the province's economic, cultural, scientific and educational centers, one of the central city of the Yangtze River Delta.
Hangzhou (Hangzhou for short), capital of Zhejiang Province, is located in the southeast coast of China, northern Zhejiang Province, sub-provincial city.
Hangzhou has a history of more than 2,200 years since the Qin Dynasty, and was once the capital of the Wu-Yue State and the Southern Song Dynasty. Hangzhou is also the political, economic, cultural, educational, transportation and financial center of Zhejiang Province, one of the central cities of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the core city of the Hangzhou Bay Area, the node city of the Yangtze River Delta Ning-Hangzhou Eco-Economic Belt, and one of the important e-commerce centers in China.
