The fine tradition of China's traditional teachers' morality is mainly reflected in
Respect teachers and attach importance to teaching, be able to preach, set an example, be a teacher, teach students in accordance with their aptitude, be complacent in learning, be knowledgeable in learning, be tireless in teaching others, learn from each other's strong points and make up for each other's shortcomings, and be ashamed to ask questions.
First, only by respecting teachers and stressing morality can people be brilliant.
The Chinese nation has always respected teachers and attached great importance to education, and raised it to the height of "Tao".
The ancients usually divided knowledge and wisdom into three levels: Tao, Jing and Shu. "Tao" is the original and ultimate knowledge, "Jing" is the elaboration of "Tao" and "Shu" is the means and method to practice "Tao". "Tao" occupies a supreme position in China culture, and the ancients paid special attention to it. They not only think that any knowledge will eventually reach the realm of "Tao", but also regard "getting the Tao" as the ultimate goal of life. So Confucius said, "Listen to the sermon in the morning and die later."
Second, set an example and be a teacher.
In the ancient concept of "being a teacher by example", teachers should first attach importance to teachers' morality and ask them to lead by example. That is to say, teachers should lead by example in addition to "teaching by example".
Confucius said, "He is upright and acts without orders. His body is not upright, although he disobeys orders. " This sentence means that if you want to be right, you must be right first. In a sense, example is more important and powerful than words and deeds. Mencius said that "teachers must be right" and also emphasized the importance of teachers setting an example.
The ancients divided teachers into two categories: Confucian classics teachers and humanities teachers. A Confucian classmate is a "famous expert who teaches people to learn from the scriptures", which can explain the person who teaches people to learn from the scriptures. A teacher is such a person that besides studying, he is "good enough to practice" and good enough to be an example for students.
The ancients said, "Teachers are easy to meet, but teachers are hard to meet." Teachers who simply impart knowledge are easy to meet, but the so-called teachers, that is, people with good morality, talent and knowledge, can "learn to be an official", and such people are hard to meet.
Today, with the professionalization and specialization of teachers, if education is only to impart knowledge and skills, or even for the examination of children's future careers, without the edification and blessing of personality, it cannot be said that it is a huge lack of humanistic education.
Third, teach students in accordance with their aptitude and learn to be complacent.
Confucius is an educator who is good at teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. Different students have different answers to the same question. The ancients attached great importance to "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude" in order to cultivate students' "learning to be complacent".
After teachers teach students specific methods of solving problems and thinking, the mission of teachers' preaching is basically completed, and students enter the process of self-reflection and self-realization. Teachers provide different methods to solve problems for different students, while students use potential initiative and consciousness to learn and comprehend knowledge, which is "self-satisfaction".
Wang Yangming, a philosopher in the Ming Dynasty, said, "A husband is complacent, and then he can talk to a saint." The ancients regarded "complacency in learning" as the right way to seek truth, and also regarded "complacency" as the basic method to enlighten students, emphasizing spiritual understanding and meditation.
"Learning to be complacent" highlights students' inherent subjectivity and initiative, and teaching students in accordance with their aptitude is to emphasize and enhance this ability.
Fourth, knowledgeable and tireless.
Confucius said, "Reviewing the past and learning new things can be a teacher.
"It's shameful for a Confucian to know nothing", while the ancient "teacher's way" requires teachers to be knowledgeable, not complacent, to be brave in pursuing new knowledge, broaden their horizons and apply what they have learned. Therefore, great thinkers and scholars in ancient times were often educators at the same time. Confucius has 3,000 disciples, 72 of whom can be called "sages".
In addition to Confucius, there is also a great educator worthy of admiration, that is, Zhu, a Neo-Confucianism scholar in the Song Dynasty. Zhu has always followed the example of Confucius and practiced the spirit of "never tire of learning and never tire of teaching". Even though he is busy with official duties and tired of dealing with political affairs, he will still give lectures to students in the evening. Gradually, more and more people come here to study, so that there is no place to sit in the room.
Zhu said that he would be unhappy if he didn't give lectures for a day. Sometimes he feels sick. As soon as he started his lecture, he felt relaxed, and his illness would soon disappear. Zhu Yisheng trained thousands of disciples and nearly 400 famous artists.
Five, learn from each other, not ashamed to ask questions.
"Book of Rites" says: "Learning is not enough, teaching is difficult. If you don't know enough, then you can reverse; Advance despite difficulties, and then strive for self-improvement. So teaching and learning are also beneficial.
The original meaning of "learning from teaching" means that teachers' own learning is a kind of learning, and educating students is also a kind of learning. On the one hand, teachers find their own defects and deficiencies in knowledge accumulation in their study, so as to continuously improve their progress; On the other hand, in the process of educating students, we will also find that we have some problems that we don't understand thoroughly and can't explain clearly to students, that is, "retreat from difficulties", so that students can continue their studies and increase their knowledge.
