By comparing the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of traditional teaching mode and multimedia teaching mode, this paper puts forward to update teaching concepts, improve teaching methods, combine the advantages of multimedia and traditional media, and highlight the interactive function of multimedia. In order to complement each other's advantages, overcome their disadvantages and give full play to the role of multimedia in teaching.
Paper Keywords: traditional teaching mode; Multimedia teaching mode; Teaching methods?
First, the traditional teaching model
The traditional teaching mode generally refers to the teaching activities in the campus classroom. Usually, teachers and learners are in the same space at the same time. In class, due to the influence of environment, learners must abide by certain rules of behavior, that is, certain communication methods. In traditional teaching, teachers mostly rely on the existing experience, according to the content of textbooks in the form of narrative transmission to learners, and learners only passively accept it. Traditional teaching only takes classes in the classroom, which is the most traditional and widely used teaching method. Teachers carry out systematic and organized oral teaching around a specific topic. The main spirit of traditional teaching is a teaching method in which teachers completely dominate and control the whole teaching situation, use blackboard writing and teaching resources and teaching materials to explain, and students concentrate on listening or practicing in class. Most of the traditional teaching models focus on teachers' teaching activities, without paying special attention to or facing up to students' previous ideas, and without carrying out special and appropriate teaching activities to help students change their ideas. Students are used to passively absorbing new knowledge according to the arrangement of textbooks and the teaching progress of teachers, who know everything. Therefore, the traditional teaching teacher plays the role of a complete leader in teaching according to the textbook, while the students just sit and listen to the class, playing a passive receiver, without any choice. Traditional teaching is a collective teaching method, which is easy to implement. In teaching activities, teachers' explanations are often emphasized. Without the participation of students, there are few opportunities for interaction between teachers and students. Therefore, it is impossible to evaluate and diagnose students' learning results in teaching activities. After teaching, learners can't implement remedial teaching unless they know it at that time. Although they tried to make up for it, it was inevitably too late. Traditional teaching generally refers to teaching activities in the classroom. Usually, teachers lead students to study in the same learning space at the same time. Many times, the teacher plays the role of narrator, and most students are in a passive state. In other words, students, so-called learners, are mostly recipients of information. Traditional teaching mode means that in classroom teaching, teachers convey the contents of teaching materials to learners through the teaching method of explanation, which is implemented by teachers and students together. Traditionally, there is only a single version of static teaching materials, and the content is mostly subject-oriented, which is often out of touch with students' real life. Teachers play a negative role as storytellers. This teaching form is easy to fall into one-way knowledge infusion, which is the result of over-reliance on the authority of teachers, making students lose the motivation to learn actively.
1. The characteristics of traditional teaching mode can be summarized as follows. ① Teaching method: teaching in large classes, with emphasis on cramming knowledge. ② The role of teachers: Teachers are the disseminators of knowledge and the only providers of knowledge. ③ Interaction between teachers and students: Only face-to-face communication is possible, and only a few students' reactions can be noticed in teaching, but not all students' reactions. ④ Teaching method: teachers output in one direction and students accept passively. ⑤ Teaching time: fixed time, according to the scheduled class schedule. Teaching tools: Chalk and blackboard are the main teaching tools.
2. The traditional teaching mode has the following advantages. ① Save study time. ② Knowledge integrity system. ③ Flexible use of teaching materials and teaching aids. ④ The classroom order is easy to control. ⑤ Teachers' enthusiasm and professionalism will affect students' learning. ⑥ Teachers' interactive discussion can be directly controlled and regulated.
3. The traditional teaching mode has the following shortcomings. ① Students learn passively and acquire knowledge passively. (2) Lack of inquiry makes it easy to lose interest and attention. ③ It is not easy to observe the individual learning effect in class. ④ It is difficult to cultivate students' problem-solving ability. ⑤ Teachers' teaching methods and personality traits have great influence on students' learning. ⑥ The whole teaching activity is teacher-centered, not student-centered.
Second, the multimedia teaching model
According to the global multimedia teaching scale survey, by 20 10, at least 85% of the global teaching activities will be conducted on the internet, and 70% of the respondents believe that the multimedia teaching effect will be better than the traditional teaching activities. We believe that multimedia teaching refers to a teaching method in which teachers use information technology, online teaching materials and educational learning theory to move teaching from traditional classroom to online classroom. Online learning can also be regarded as a learning activity based on network platform, which refers to all educational activities that are studied through multimedia teaching system. That is, after logging in to the platform, learners will browse, discuss, test and do homework. In recent years, it has become a new learning topic to improve learners' effectiveness with the assistance of information technology. From the early computer-aided instruction (CAI) to online learning using computer network, the application scope and level of computer technology in educational environment have been expanded. Learning through online media is called e-learning. Astd (American Association for Training and Development) defines online learning as the use of electronic technology as a medium to transmit information to achieve the purpose of learning. In short, online learning is the use of computers to achieve learning goals. On the one hand, multimedia teaching is a system platform, including the development of information technology such as architecture, system and interface; On the other hand, it is human nature, including people's study habits, teachers' teaching methods, technology introduction, organizational reengineering and so on.
1. Multimedia teaching can be divided into the following four parts. ① Online teaching materials: emphasize that students can learn from some online teaching materials; The so-called online teaching materials refer to e-books, online materials or other online content. ② Network tools: Emphasize that students use network tools for learning activities, such as desktop computers, notebook computers, CDs or telephones. ③ Online delivery: It is emphasized that students' learning activities can be delivered online through the Internet, such as engaging in learning activities through intranet, extranet and satellite broadcasting. ④ Autonomous learning: It emphasizes that students can engage in online or offline learning activities through online learning. E-learning is a learning method to expand design, delivery, filtering and management knowledge by using network technology.
Multimedia teaching has many advantages and the following characteristics. Accessible, real-time learning: an activity that allows learners to learn anytime and anywhere. (2) Reuse to reduce costs: Reuse can reduce travel expenses, textbook printing fees, classroom rent and other costs. (3) Fast updating, saving time and effort: the teaching materials are updated and sent quickly, saving manpower and time for printing and sending. (4) Control time, which is more flexible: you can learn by computer, control your time freely, and do not delay your work. ⑤ Active learning is very effective: learners can decide to understand and practice actively according to their own needs. ⑥ Record learning for easy evaluation: The learning process and results are recorded for easy evaluation and analysis. ⑦ Learning community and experience sharing: Through the establishment of cooperative learning culture, learners communicate with each other and grow constantly.
3. An ideal multimedia teaching system should have five elements. ① Online courses: learners must carry out online learning activities according to online courses, so the design of online courses must make full use of the characteristics of the global information network. ② On-line test: presented in the form of multimedia network, feedback can be given immediately after the test, giving full play to the functions of the computer and further enhancing the learning effect. The design of the test should also include the concept of adaptability to adapt to the individual differences of learners. (3) Virtual classroom: Virtual classroom provides a cooperative learning situation for learners, in which learners can discuss, observe and learn cooperatively, while teachers use it to help learners learn. ④ Teaching management: The main purpose of teaching management is to record learners' learning information and provide basis for teachers to coach and evaluate learners. ⑤ Learning tools: In the process of online learning, learning tools will support learners to learn online, such as notebooks, search engines and personalized environments.
