Step 1: Enable quick start menu mode:

2. The startup menu will be displayed. In the displayed startup menu, move the cursor to the item selected in the red box in the figure, and then press Enter to enter the U disk.

See Figure 2 for the operation method of Lenovo notebook entering the USB flash drive startup item.

3. Some computers may display different shortcut start menus, as shown in the figure below. The USB flash drive displayed in it is not the name of the USB flash drive, but USB-HDD, and this is also a USB flash drive, which also shows the optical drive item. If you want to start the computer with the system CD, you can select the CD-ROM drive item.

See Figure 3 for the operation method of Lenovo notebook entering the USB flash drive startup item.

Step 2: Boot USB flash drive or CD from BIOS in traditional mode:

4. When the "LENOVO" self-test screen is displayed at the boot, immediately press the Del key to enter the BIOS setup main interface. Because the display time of the self-test screen is short, you can always press the Del key as soon as you turn it on. Some Lenovo computers may press F2 to enter the BIOS.

See Figure 4 for the operation method of Lenovo notebook entering the USB flash drive startup item.

5. After entering the BIOS main interface, the main item will be displayed by default. First move the cursor to the security item, and then use the up and down arrow keys to move the cursor to "safe startup", which means "safe startup settings" in Chinese. If you want to start a USB flash drive or CD in the traditional way, you must set this item and press Enter to enter.

See Figure 5 for the operation method of Lenovo notebook entering the USB flash drive startup item.

6. After entering the subpage, select Safe Start, press enter to open a small window, select Disable, and then press enter to confirm.

See Figure 6 for the operation method of Lenovo notebook entering the USB flash drive startup item.

7. Then select the startup item. First, choose UEFI/Legacy Boot, which means "new UEFI and traditional boot mode" in Chinese. UEFI only is now displayed. We want to choose a compatible mode, that is, compatible with the traditional BIOS mode, so press enter to enter, select both, and press enter to confirm.

See Figure 7 for the operation method of Lenovo notebook entering the USB flash drive startup item.

8. At this point, UEFI/ legacy boot priority items will be added. We select this project, enter, and select Legacy First in the small window that opens, which means that the traditional startup mode should be listed first. Press enter to confirm.

See Figure 8 for the operation method of Lenovo notebook entering the USB flash drive startup item.

9. After the above settings are completed, set the startup item below, still under startup, select the startup item, and then press enter to enter.

Tip: By the way, if some shortcut start menu keys F 12 can't be started and there is no response when pressed, it is because the function keys F 12 here are not turned on. If it is disabled here, the shortcut key F 12 will definitely not work, so it should be set to enable, so you can start the menu with the shortcut key F 12.

See Figure 9 for the operation method of Lenovo notebook entering the USB flash drive startup item.

10. After entering the startup options interface, select USB HDD SanDisk Cruzer Edge, which is the USB flash drive startup item. First move the cursor to this item, and then use the+/-key to move this item to the top, so that it is arranged at 1. This is the first startup item, press enter to confirm.

Another method is to directly press the F 10 key, which has the same function, and all of them are saved and exited. After restarting the computer, you can enter the USB flash drive or CD-ROM loading system.

Third, add a USB flash drive or CD-ROM startup method:

13, press the Del key when starting the machine. Some versions of computers may use F2 to enter the BIOS. After entering, change the default value of operating system optimization to be disabled at the last restart. Enter the startup item again, first change UEFI/Legacy Boot to Legacy, and then press F 10 to save. After exiting, you can enter the USB flash drive startup disk.

14. Finally, a common problem in installing a system is the problem of hard disk mode. Because some old systems, including a large part of XP systems, don't have SATA drivers in their systems, when installing systems with this old ghost or PE (old PE doesn't have SATA drivers, most new PEs do), there will be a phenomenon that hard disks can't be found, and the general problem lies in the hard disk mode setting in BIOS.

To set the hard disk mode correctly, first enter the configuration item and change its mode from AHCI to compatible, so that the hard disk can be displayed in PE. After installing the system, change it back to AHCI. Why did you change it back? Because AHCI hard disk mode has better performance and faster speed.
