I want to read books on unofficial history in Qing Dynasty. Can you introduce it? Where can I buy it?
The Draft of Qing History is an unfinished version compiled by Beiyang government in the early years of the Republic of China. The editing work lasted for more than ten years. By 1927, the editor-in-chief Zhao Erxun saw that the whole manuscript had taken shape, worried that the situation was changeable and he was pressed for time, and decided to print and publish all the volumes under the name of "Draft of the History of Qing Dynasty" to show that it was not finalized. Because no history of Qing Dynasty was compiled according to the traditional official history style of China, and the Draft of Qing Dynasty itself is rich in historical materials, its value can not be ignored. Many scholars list it as one of the "twenty-five histories" or "twenty-six histories".
