Longhui honeysuckle has been cultivated for more than 30 years since the early 1970s.

In recent 10 years, our county listed honeysuckle as one of the pillar industries for key development, and formulated a series of supporting policies to accelerate the pace of industrial construction. Area, output and output value increased steadily. In 2003, the area grew to 280,000 mu, the output was 1 10,000 tons, and the output value was about10.50 billion yuan. Products sell well in Guilin, Guangzhou and Chongqing.

Longhui Pepper (Baoqing Pepper)

Longhui Zanthoxylum bungeanum is a traditional product in this county, with an annual planting area of about 30,000 mu. The main producing areas are Taohong Town, Shanjie Hui Township and Beishan Township, and the rest are planted all over the county.

Before liberation, it was mainly distributed in Hui nationality township in the southern mountainous area of Longhui and Hui nationality settlement in Beishan township. According to county records, in 38 years of the Republic of China, the planting area was 2,500 mu, and the dry pepper was produced 1.50 tons. After 50 years, it developed rapidly and the area increased to 10,000 mu. In 1957, it was designated as the national pepper production base, with the sowing area exceeding 1.2 million mu and the total output 1.0 million mu.

In 1970s, the favorable area of foreign trade market was maintained at1.2-25,000 mu, and the total output was between 5,500-1.670 tons.

1979 was designated as a foreign trade export base county.

The production area expanded to 30,000 mu, and the total output exceeded 2,000 tons. Since then, it has remained between 30,000 and 25,000 mu.

Garlic with red skin

Longhui garlic is mainly red-skinned garlic, with plant height of 60-70 cm, lanceolate leaves, 6- 12 leaves, dark green, garlic moss 50-70 cm long, bulbous oblate, purple skin, 6-9 petals, and longitudinal diameter of 3.5- 10 cm. In the 1980s, Hong Kong businessmen planted four small characters and three big characters on the pages of Hong Kong Ta Kung Pao: Baoqing garlic, spicy, fresh and Longhui red garlic grew for about 2 10 days, and were sown in the middle and late September, with the plant spacing of 2-3 city inches and the row spacing of 6-7 city. Tiger Claw cingil

The main variety of Longhui ginger is called Tiger Claw ginger by farmers in producing areas.

From the morphological point of view, it should be classified as a kind of red claw ginger, because its overground plants are too long and strong, and its rhizome meat should be plump, with less fiber, yellow skin and red buds.

Zhejiang flower claw ginger is shaped, but it is slightly different. It looks like Tiger Claw, and its rhizome elongation is slightly better than that of Polygonum multiflorum.

Secondly, it also has the characteristics of red bud ginger and Fujian bamboo ginger.

The average plant weight is 0.5- 1 kg, and the yield of 667 square meters is generally around 2000 kg. In the past ten years, the planting area has been maintained at 4000-6600 mu, mainly distributed in Shanjie, Taohong Town, Beishan Township and Hui Township in Jin Shiqiao Town.

In the early days of liberation, the sown area was about 80- 100 mu.

Polygonatum odoratum: also known as cauda ginseng, is a rare product with the same origin of medicine and food.

Sweet and slightly bitter, it has the effects of nourishing yin, moistening dryness, promoting fluid production and quenching thirst, and is suitable for the treatment of lung and stomach yin injury, cough due to heat dryness, dry throat and thirst due to internal heat.

Polygonatum odoratum has been cultivated in Longhui for more than 40 years. After long-term production practice and scientific research, a mature planting and processing technology system has been formed.

In recent years, Polygonatum odoratum has been listed as one of the priority medicinal varieties by Longhui County People's Government, and given priority support in policy funds, which has enabled this industry to develop rapidly in a short time.

In 2002, the planting area of the county reached 9,000 mu, with an annual output of 2,500 tons (Polygonatum odoratum) and an output value of 50 million yuan.

The matching processing industry has also been fully developed. According to statistics, there are 20 processing plants with an output value of one million yuan, and 50 smaller processing plants. Standardized industry management has been implemented, and the product quality is very stable. Best-selling in Guangdong, Hunan, Australia, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries as well as the United States and Canada.

China has more than 80 kinds of gold, manganese, silicon, rare earth and other mineral resources. Through field investigation by China Academy of Sciences, it is determined that our county is a rare selenium-enriched area in the world, and the selenium content in some towns and villages is 25 times that of the world and 30 times that of the whole country.

Selenium-enriched agricultural products have been effectively developed. Peng Yi and Yinxian brand honeysuckle tea, Baoqing brand longya lily, Taohua brand hot sauce, Haozhiyuan brand pumpkin powder, Fengdu brand Cuiluo tea have obtained national green food certification. Honeysuckle, as a traditional selenium-enriched agricultural product in this county, has been officially listed in the National Pharmacopoeia, and its output accounts for more than 50% of the total national output. It has been named as "the hometown of honeysuckle in China" by the State Forestry Administration.
