In Colmar, in northeastern France, where the entire city is surrounded by water and is known as Little Venice, children dressed as Santa Claus sing Christmas carols on a boat on Christmas Day as the boat moves through the city's river, bringing festive carols to the people on the shore.
Corsican Christmas fires
On the island of Corsica, bonfires are lit in front of churches on Dec. 24 after midnight mass.
