The History of Dongshan Ancient Temple in Hepu

Hepu Dongshan Temple, formerly known as Lingjue Temple and Dongshan Temple, was founded by Zen Master Cheng of Song Baoshan. In the 10th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (14 12), it was rebuilt by a monk Juejing, and then it was rebuilt many times in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty and Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty. Temple * * * is divided into four rooms, brick structure. The first entrance, the word "Dongshan Temple", was written by a scholar Yu Jun, and the font was vigorous and powerful; The second entrance is the Heavenly King Hall; The third step is the Hall of Great Heroes, keeping the style of the Song Dynasty. The fourth time was guanyin temple.

Dongshan Temple in Hepu was once the palace of Li Rizun, king of Annan during the reign of Chang Fu in Dayue, and it is one of the oldest temples in Hepu. It was once rated as one of the "Eight Scenes of Yang Lian" in Ming Dynasty. Unfortunately, after liberation, due to political movements and other reasons, Dongshan Temple in Hepu suffered many accidents, the temple was demolished and the Buddha statue was damaged, which was a miserable scene.

After the reform and opening-up, especially in 200 1 year, Hepu county party committee and county government seriously implemented the national religious policy and took the restoration of Dongshan Temple as an important task. Therefore, Hepu Dongshan Temple is getting back to its original appearance day by day, and the whole Dongshan Temple is taking on a new look. Now the Ursa Major Hall and Guanyin Hall are under intense repair, and I believe they will meet tourists soon.
