Dragon boat race is a traditional custom of Dragon Boat Festival. In order to promote the traditional culture of China, the Dragon Boat Race of the 8th National Fitness Games will be held in Hechuan, Chongqing on June 14.

The competition venue is in the waters from the Second Bridge of Fujiang River to the entrance of Xiaoanxi, Hechuan City; There are two events in the competition: 22-person dragon boat 200m straight race and 22-person dragon boat 500m straight race. At present, 12 teams have signed up for the competition.

It is understood that Hechuan is endowed with unique water resources. There are 99 streams in the territory, especially Jialing River, Qujiang River and Fujiang River meet in the urban area. The water surface is wide and the water flow is gentle, which is an ideal place to hold dragon boat races. Known as the "hometown of dragon boat", it was once rated as "the best dragon boat competition area in China". Hechuan Dragon Boat Team is the only dragon boat team representing Chongqing in the national dragon boat competition. In recent years, he has participated in high-level events such as the Dragon Boat Race of the National Minority Games, the China Dragon Boat Open and the National Sports Conference, and won a total of gold 13, silver 15 and bronze 13.
