In the early history of China, there was no abstract thinking originated from Pinyin, and there was no abstract concept of an invisible and omnipotent god. Therefore, there is no transcendental theology in China's mythological system. Therefore, legislators in China belong to saints or wise kings. Religion has always been in a relatively primitive state, and it is difficult for polytheistic religious beliefs to produce theocracy accepted and recognized by the whole society, so it is impossible to form religious theocracy.

Buddhism entered China in the Eastern Han Dynasty. At this time, Confucianism has become the exclusive knowledge of ancient China and the mainstream ideology of the Central Plains Dynasty for more than two thousand years. Although Buddhism is also widely spread in China, it has never gained the status of state religion. Only in the past, Tubo Nanzhao and other ethnic minority areas established a country with the integration of politics and religion. But the central dynasty has always taken Confucianism as its official ideology.

The reason why China has never formed a religious theocracy is because of the precocity of Chinese civilization. In addition to the local monotheism, when foreign religions invaded, social development has reached a higher level, and there is a culture inside to resist the challenges of foreign religions.
