(A) according to the medium of communication classification

1. Printed advertising: including printed advertisements and printed and drawn advertisements. Printed advertisements include newspaper advertisements, magazine advertisements, book advertisements, billboard advertisements, flyer advertisements, product catalogs, and organization profiles. Printed advertisements include wall advertisements, street sign advertisements, tool advertisements, package advertisements, and calendar advertisements.

2. Electronic advertisements: mainly radio advertisements, TV advertisements, movie advertisements, computer network advertisements, electronic display screen advertisements, neon light advertisements and so on.

3. Physical advertising: mainly including physical advertising, window advertising, gift advertising.

(B) according to the classification of the location of the advertisement

1. Sales site advertising: refers to advertising set up inside and outside the sales venue. Including window ads, shelf display ads, indoor and outdoor banner ads, cartoon ads, giant commodity ads.

2. Non-sales site advertising: refers to all forms of advertising that exist outside the sales site.

(C) according to the content of advertising classification

1. Commercial advertising: commercial advertising is the most common form of advertising, is the focus of the theoretical study of advertising. Commercial advertising to promote goods for the purpose of advertising, is to provide consumers with information on goods-based advertising.

2. Cultural advertising: advertisements with the content of spreading science, culture, education, sports, news and publication.

3. Social advertising: advertising that provides social services. For example: social welfare, medical care, social insurance, and marriage, looking for people, lost, job recruitment, housing transfer.

4. Government announcements: refers to the announcements issued by government departments, also has the role of advertising. For example: public security, transportation, courts, finance, taxation, industry and commerce, health and other departments issued by the announcement of information.
