Yuxi Agricultural Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time ordinary school of higher education approved by the People's Government of Yunnan Province and recorded by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Yuxi Agricultural Vocational and Technical College was formerly known as Yuxi Agricultural School of Yunnan Province, which was established in June 1956, and was renamed Yuxi Agricultural and Forestry School in March 1966, and restored to Yuxi Agricultural School of Yunnan Province in January 1974, and in December 1992, it was added with the brand of "Yuxi Tobacco Cultivation School of Yunnan Province", which is the first school in the country to be established in Yunnan Province. In March 2002, Yuxi Agricultural Vocational and Technical College was established.
