Why are Croatian names so strange?

It is a tradition in their country that Croats have strange names.

The most famous players are, of course, "Magic Flute" modric, in addition to Rivakovic, Zhu Ranovic, kovacic, brozovic, perisic and so on. Only a few players in the big list have names without "odd".

For example, friends who like to watch NBA should all know the legendary coach Popovich. Popovich's father is Serbian and his mother is Croatian, a typical Yugoslav descendant.

Another example is the famous Swedish star Ibrahimovic. Although he is Swedish, his father is Bosnian, his mother is Croatian, and his name is obviously Slavic.
