Is it effective for LED backlight to replace LCD TV?

At present, the TV named LED TV on the market is not a real LED TV, but an LCD TV with LED backlight, which is still an LCD TV in essence. LED LCD TV has the following advantages:

1, ultra-thin: the thickness of traditional LCD TVs is usually around 10cm. The backlight mode of LED is common in notebook computers. When applied to TV, the thickness of the fuselage has made a thin leap.

2. Environmental protection and energy saving: CCLF cold cathode fluorescent lamp, the backlight used in traditional LCD TV, contains mercury harmful to human body. Although manufacturers are trying their best to reduce the mercury content in cathode fluorescent lamps, totally mercury-free fluorescent lamps have brought some new technical problems. LED backlight never contains mercury, which is in line with green fashion. LED backlight is also very energy-saving. The internal driving voltage of LED is much lower than CCFL, and its power consumption and safety are better than CCFL.

3. Long service life: The rated service life (half bright) of different CCFL is between 8000 ~ 100000 hours. The service life of CCFL backlight designed to improve performance will be shorter. LED backlight can reach about twice that of CCFL. Therefore, the service life of LED backlight is usually longer than CCFL.

4, wide color gamut: in fact, it is the quality of image quality. According to the different luminous colors, LEDs can be divided into white LED backlight and RGB LED backlight. The advantage of white LED technology is mainly low power consumption, while the advantage of RGB-LED backlight is excellent color performance. RGB LED backlight achieves a wide color gamut range that traditional CCFL light sources cannot achieve through LED devices emitting high-purity red, green and blue light. At present, the mainstream RGB-LED backlight can reach the NTSC color gamut range of 105%, and the more powerful LED devices can reach the NTSC color gamut range of more than 120%.
