Guanxian Beiguantao Town with what civilization

Langzhuang Village, North Guantao Town, Guanxian County, is famous for its traditional craft of face molding.

Langzhuang face molding, commonly known as "face tiger", originated in Langzhuang Village, North Guantao Town, Guanxian County, Shandong Province, for a long history of folk handicraft products, is the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage.

The inheritance

Langzhuang, Guanxian County, Shandong Province, is located in the northwest of Shandong, this small village of 30 to 40 families, men, women and children of all ages will do face painting. The big ones are about 15 centimeters high, and the small ones are only about 6 centimeters high, and they are made of a wide range of materials, such as Chinese zodiac signs, historical legends, myths, opera stories, birds, flowers, insects and fish, vegetables and fruits.

For example, there are Guan Gong, the Eight Immortals, Liu Hai playing with the Golden Toad, Nezha haunting the sea, Porky Pig carrying a daughter-in-law, goldfish, cicadas, frogs, roosters, tigers, monkeys, spring swallows, and so on. Most of the noodle sculptures in Langzhuang are made of fine wheat flour and are simple to make. They are modeled by pinching, kneading, wrestling, sticking, etc., and the details and decorations are made with scissors and combs; they are then steamed, colored and glued, and then left to dry, so that the surface of the sculptures is bright and not easy to be dried out and cracked.
