Recently, the national standard "Automatic Classification of Automobile Driving" passed the evaluation of the National Automobile Standardization Technical Committee. It is understood that the new national standard will be officially released in 2020. The national standard is led by Changan Automobile and China Automobile Center, and the automatic driving is divided into 0-5 grades.

At present, there are two internationally recognized grading standards for autonomous driving technology, which were put forward by expressway Security Bureau (NHTSA) and International Association of Automata Engineers (SAE). China's national standards for automobile driving automation classification mainly include the definition of driving automation, the principles of driving automation classification, the elements of driving automation classification, the definition of driving automation grade, the classification process and judgment method of driving automation grade, and the technical requirements of driving automation grade. It is one of the basic standards of China intelligent networked automobile standard system 1 1, which will provide support for the subsequent promulgation of laws, regulations and mandatory standards related to autonomous driving in China.
