A story and a fairy tale about being polite and sensible
1, the story: Kong Rong let the pear
Kong Rong, the word Wenju, Shandong Qufu people in the Eastern Han Dynasty, is the twentieth grandson of Kong Zi, his grandfather, Kong Shang was the governor of Jueru, and his father is Taishan Lieutenant Kong Zu. According to Kong Rong's biography, when Kong Rong was four years old, he ate pears with his brother and always ate the smaller ones. He was asked why he did so. He replied: "Children eat small amounts of food, it is reasonable to take the small. "
Li Xian's annotated "Hou Han Shu - Kong Rong Biography" in the "Rong Family Biography" recorded: "When Kong Rong was four years old, he ate pears with his older brothers, and Kong Rong always took the smaller ones. An adult asked him why he did that. He replied: "I am young and have a small appetite, so it is reasonable that I should take the small one. "Because Kong Rong was so smart and early, and knew such reasoning at a very young age, his clan relatives thought he was a wizard.
2. Fairy tale: the polite little white rabbit
The hot summer came, and the birds were calling from the trees, "Hot, hot!"
The beautiful little white rabbit wore a pretty flowery dress, hummed a song, and hopped up to the bridge. It was going across to pick mushrooms.
Just then it saw Uncle Goat on the other side getting ready to cross the bridge too. The bridge was so narrow that only one person could cross it.
When the white rabbit saw this, he stopped and said loudly, "Uncle Goat, you can cross the bridge first!" After saying this, it stepped back from the bridge.
Uncle Goat wore glasses and walked slowly across the bridge on his crutches. Uncle Goat almost fell by accident, and the frightened white rabbit shouted, "Uncle Goat, be careful crossing the bridge!"
After crossing the bridge, Uncle Goat stroked the white rabbit's head and praised, "You're so good!"
Expanded:
Zeng Zi was a disciple of Confucius, once he was sitting beside Confucius, Confucius asked him: "The sage kings of the past had supreme virtues and subtle theories, which they used to teach people all over the world, so that people could get along with each other harmoniously, and there was no dissatisfaction between the king and his subjects, do you know what they were?"
Hearing this, Zeng Zi understood that his teacher, Confucius, was trying to instruct him in the most profound truths, so he immediately got up from the mat on which he was sitting, walked outside of it, and respectfully replied, "I am not clever enough to know, so how can I know, and I beg you, teacher, to teach me these truths." ?
Here, "avoiding the seat" is a very polite behavior. When Zeng Zi heard that his teacher was going to teach him, he stood up and walked outside the seat to ask for his teacher's advice, in order to show his respect to the teacher.
