What is folk art?
1, shadow play
Shadow play originated in Shaanxi during the Western Han Dynasty in China with a history of 1000 years. It is the earliest art of moving shadow play in the world. Some people think that shadow play is the modern "ancestor of movies".
In China, many local operas are derived from shadow play, and the performance principles and artistic means adopted by shadow play have also played an important leading role in the invention of modern films and the development of modern film art films. It can be seen that the art of shadow play has high artistic value in China and even in the world.
2. Chinese paper cutting
Chinese paper-cutting is a folk art of cutting patterns on paper with scissors or carving knives. It is a national intangible cultural heritage, with a broad mass base and rich cultural life, history and aesthetic information. It occupies an important position in folk activities, among which Shandong paper-cutting, Shanxi paper-cutting and Shaanxi paper-cutting are the representative schools of paper-cutting.
3. Clay sculpture art
Clay sculpture art is an ancient and common folk art in China. It takes soil as raw material, hand-shaped, or plain or colorful, with figures and animals as the main ones. The clay sculpture art in China can be traced back to the Neolithic Age from 4000 years ago to 1000 years ago, and there are also many discoveries in the underground archaeology of prehistoric culture.
The most famous clay sculptures in China are Zhang in Tianjin, clay figurines in Huishan in Wuxi and colored sculptures in Dunhuang Grottoes. The present clay sculpture art is a concrete portrayal of people's pursuit of returning to nature.
4, knitting technology (Chinese knot)
Weaving technology has a long history in China. As early as 1000 years ago, there were exquisite woven daily necessities in Liao Dynasty. Since the Qing Dynasty, it has spread all over life, and the weaving materials are varied, including wickerwork, rattan, sorghum straw, straw, bamboo, rope and metal.
In fact, the Chinese knot is a unique folk hand-woven ornament in China, which started from the notes of ancient ancestors. It is a traditional auspicious ornament with unique shape, bright colors and rich connotations.
5. Puppet
Puppet art has a long history of development in China, and the earliest puppets may be related to the funeral figurines in slave society. Puppet show is a form of traditional opera in China, where artists manipulate puppets to perform stories. China's puppet show rose in the Han Dynasty. There are many kinds of puppet shows now, including western Liaoning puppet show, Zhangzhou puppet show, Quanzhou puppet show, Jinjiang puppet show, Shaoyang puppet show and so on.
Gaozhou puppet show, Chaozhou iron puppet show, northern Sichuan puppet show, Shiqian puppet show, sheep's hoof puppet show, Taishun medicine puppet show, Lingao puppet show and other branches. As far as the performance forms are concerned, they can be summarized into five types: marionette, stick puppet, bag puppet, iron puppet and medicine puppet.
6. Pottery making
Ceramic is a kind of handicraft which originated from the Neolithic Age in China. After thousands of years of development, it is famous for its high artistic value. Nowadays, ceramic products have been widely used in the national economy because of their advantages of radiation resistance, high hardness and high temperature corrosion resistance.
