Is blacksmith flower an intangible cultural heritage?
Tiehua is a traditional art in China and one of the national intangible cultural heritages. This art began in the Northern Song Dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with a history of more than 1000 years. During the performance of Tiehua, molten iron will be heated to a very high temperature, about 1600 degrees Celsius. Craftsmen will scoop up hot molten iron with custom-made wooden boards, then hit it hard and throw it into the air. In this process, the molten metal quickly cools and solidifies, forming a beautiful and gorgeous spark, which blooms in the night sky, up to more than ten meters high, very beautiful and shocking, giving people a dazzling visual experience. As one of China's traditional skills, the flower-carving shows the exquisite skills and creativity of ancient craftsmen in China, and it is also an important part of China's cultural tradition.
