Why do Spaniards wear masks?
From Sunday before Easter to eight days before Easter, every Catholic Brotherhood set out from their church to show their piety to God. The parade wears different robes and hats, and they must wear long pointed hats on their heads to avoid being recognized by people other than God.
Each group is guided by the cross, followed by believers wearing various robes and long pointed hats. The color of the robe has its own symbol, representing everyone's evil: the black death; Purple-confession; Blood red; Green-hope.
