Is Pingankou a Taoist or a Buddhist?
The Ping An buckle is a traditional ornament in China, which is usually used to pray for peace, health and happiness. The shape of the safe mouth is round, symbolizing perfection, harmony and happiness. Its origin can be traced back to Buddhism, but Ping 'ankou also has the influence of Taoism and Confucianism in the culture of China.
Taoism emphasizes the unity of man and nature, pursues immortality and returns to nature; Confucianism emphasizes moral cultivation and etiquette norms, and pursues benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and faith. Therefore, the Ping An buckle can be either a Taoist ornament or a Buddhist ornament, which represents the pursuit of peace, health and happiness in China traditional culture.
