Paper-cutting appeared and applied in Fuyang very early. Women embroider patterns on vamps, hats, pillowcases, handkerchiefs and aprons, and also like to use paper-cutting as paper. Fuyang paper-cut enjoys a high reputation for its traditional and diverse themes, full and rigorous composition, strong local flavor and simple artistic characteristics. Starting from 1978, Fuyang paper-cut was exhibited in Hefei, Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing and Tokyo, Japan, and was later put on the screen by the Central News Recording Film Studio.

As an important part of the "2008 Harmonious China Welcome to the Olympic Games" series, the "Harmonious China Welcome to the Olympic Games National Large-scale Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition" was held in Chinese mainland. The 2008-square-foot Fuyang paper-cut scroll will be exhibited on behalf of Fuyang City, Anhui Province and donated to the Olympic Organizing Committee. And apply for Guinness World Records. This giant paper-cut was completed by more than 20 folk paper-cut artists in Fuyang, Anhui Province in two years. It is made of special colored rice paper, 223 meters long and 1 meter * * 2008 square feet high. It is divided into three parts: welcoming the Olympic Games, traditional virtues and national unity. The five-ring pattern with a width of 56 circles and 20 cm above the paper-cut painting, "One World, One Dream" in Chinese and English and the Olympic five-ring pattern represent 56 nationalities in China to welcome the Olympic Games. The following 20 cm wide is the number of 35 Olympic sports events that appear in a cycle, representing the endless cycle of the Olympic Games. This paper-cut work will be exhibited in Beijing in early August this year.
