The equipment for firing porcelain is usually tunnel kiln and shuttle kiln. Common combustion methods include gas combustion, electric combustion, wood combustion or coal combustion. But now there is less coal burning and environmental protection is tight. Coke oven gas and natural gas are used. Jingdezhen, for example, is now basically gas.

As for which method to use, it depends on the type of porcelain fired and the equipment of the manufacturer.
