Government's protection measures for ancient buildings
Legal basis: Article 8 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Protection of Cultural Relics. The State Council cultural relics administrative department is in charge of national cultural relics protection. Local people's governments at all levels are responsible for the protection of cultural relics within their respective administrative areas. The departments of the local people's governments at or above the county level that undertake the protection of cultural relics shall supervise and manage the protection of cultural relics within their respective administrative areas. The relevant administrative departments of the people's governments at or above the county level shall be responsible for the protection of cultural relics within the scope of their respective duties.
