Changde Sixian Theory

Changde Sixian, also known as LaoSixian and Sixian Opera, is the main branch of Hunan Sixian, and it is a folk performing art style with singing as the main part and rap as the alternation. It is one of the top ten local Quyi in China and the most representative Quyi in Hunan.

Changde Sixian Music is a rap art that integrates "speaking" (white), "singing" (cavity) and "expression" (composition), with "singing" as the main part and "speaking" and "expression" as the auxiliary part. Representative repertoires include Baoyu Crying, Drunken Drunk Beating the Mountain Gate, Double Down the Mountain, Wang Po Cursing Chicken, and Zhao Jun Leaving the Village.

Changde Sixian is mainly popular in Yuanjiang and Lishui, Changde, Hunan. On May 20th, 2006, Changde Sixian, declared by Changde City, Hunan Province, was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage, with the project number ⅴ-27.
