What is the power of driving motor for electric vehicle?

Abstract: With the deepening of environmental awareness, electric vehicles have become the choice of many people to buy cars. The quality of electric vehicles is closely related to the driving motor. There are five main types of electric vehicle motors: brushless DC motor, AC three-phase induction motor, permanent magnet brushless DC motor, AC asynchronous motor and synchronous motor. Different electric vehicle drive motors have different characteristics. The motor power of electric vehicles is related to the vehicle type. Generally, the motor power of pure electric vehicles is about 6KW, while that of hybrid vehicles is much larger. Let's learn about the motor types and characteristics of electric vehicles! 1. What are the motor types of electric vehicles?

1, brushed DC motor

The main advantages of brushed DC motor are simple control and mature technology. It has incomparable excellent control characteristics of AC motor. In the early development of electric vehicles, DC vehicles were used. Even now, some electric cars are still driven by DC Motor Company.

However, the existence of brush and mechanical commutator not only limits the further improvement of motor overload capacity and speed, but also requires frequent maintenance and replacement of brush and commutator if it runs for a long time. In addition, because the loss exists in the rotor, it is difficult to dissipate heat, which limits the further improvement of the torque-mass ratio of the motor. In view of the above defects of DC motor, newly developed electric vehicles basically do not use DC motor.

2. AC three-phase induction motor

AC three-phase induction motor is the most widely used motor. Its stator and rotor are laminated by silicon steel sheets, and there are no slip rings, commutators and other contact parts between the stators. Simple structure, reliable operation and durability.

AC induction motor covers a wide range of power, and the speed reaches 12000 ~ 15000 r/min. Air cooling or liquid cooling can be used, and the cooling freedom is high. It has good adaptability to the environment and can realize regenerative feedback braking. Compared with the DC motor with the same power, it has higher efficiency, reduced weight by about half, low price and convenient maintenance.

3. Permanent magnet brushless DC motor

Permanent magnet brushless DC motor is a kind of high performance motor. Its biggest feature is that it has the external characteristics of DC motor and has no mechanical contact structure composed of brushes. In addition, it uses a permanent magnet rotor, and there is no excitation loss: the heated armature winding is installed on the outer stator, so the heat dissipation is easy. Therefore, the permanent magnet brushless DC motor has no commutation spark, no radio interference, long service life, reliable operation and simple maintenance.

In addition, its speed is not limited by mechanical commutation, and it can run at hundreds of thousands of revolutions per minute if air bearings or magnetic bearings are used. Compared with brushless DC motor system, permanent magnet motor system has higher energy density and higher efficiency, and has a good application prospect in electric vehicles.

4. AC asynchronous motor

AC asynchronous motor is a kind of motor widely used in industry at present. It is characterized in that the stator and rotor are laminated by silicon steel sheets, and both ends are encapsulated by aluminum covers. There is no contact between the stator and the rotor. It has simple structure, reliable and durable operation and convenient maintenance.

The working principle is that the rotating magnetic field of the stator generates induced current and electromagnetic torque in the rotor, and the magnetic field is not directly generated in the rotor. Therefore, the rotor speed must be less than the synchronous speed (without this difference, that is, slip, there will be no rotor induced current), so it is called asynchronous motor.

5, synchronous motor

In the early stage of the development of electric vehicles, many electric vehicles adopted DC vehicle scheme. Mainly take a fancy to the characteristics of mature DC motor products, simple control mode and excellent speed regulation performance.

2. What is the power of the electric vehicle drive motor?

There are many kinds of electric vehicles, and the motor power of different electric vehicles is also different:

1, if it is an old scooter, that is, a pure electric vehicle, its top speed is 60km/h, and the driving motor power is generally around 6KW.

2. If it is a hybrid vehicle, the internal combustion engine of the traditional vehicle and the driving motor of the electric vehicle are used for hybrid driving, which converts part of the demand for gasoline into the demand for electricity, so the power is relatively large, generally around 45KW.

3. If it is a large plug-in hybrid vehicle (curb weight is 2.0 tons), its battery is relatively large, which can be externally charged and can run in pure electric mode. After the battery is exhausted, it will run in hybrid mode (mainly internal combustion engine) and charge the battery in time. Such an electric vehicle requires very high motor power, and its driving motor power is basically maintained at about 90KW.
