The reasons for calling a woman Tsing Yi are as follows:

2. Tsing Yi usually plays a dignified and virtuous woman, such as Wang Baochuan in Wujiapo. Because these characters are evil women, they are always dressed in blue, so they are called Tsing Yi.

3. In ancient times, Tsing Yi belonged to the clothes worn by people with low status, and most handmaids wore Tsing Yi. Later, it was extended to the title of handmaid. For example, in the sixty-eighth chapter of A Dream of Red Mansions, if someone was sent to Jiafu to preach Wang Er, Tsing Yi did not dare to overstep, but only ordered someone to bring a message.
