There is a legend about cheongsam: a long time ago, there was a fisherman girl by the Jingbo Lake. Because I often go fishing with my grandmother by the lake, my skin is tanned. Although her skin is dark, she is handsome. At that time, Manchu women all wore loose and fat clothes, and only black girls cut their clothes into long dresses with buttons.

Later, the emperor took a fancy to the black girl and called her into the palace. The black girl didn't want to. She has not been really happy since she came to the palace, but she has helped many poor people. Unfortunately, because of a misunderstanding, the queen killed the black girl. In memory of the black girl, everyone wore her buttoned dress and skirt. Later, this kind of clothes was called cheongsam.
